In American English it's called Tuxedo after a club. The trousers of a dinner suit should in fact have silk piping in material matching the one on the lapels. As for the lapels, shawl rounded and peak pointy are certainly correct.

I think that notch like most 'normal' suits is also correct, but there is some debate about that. Single or double breasted are both correct but of course not DB notch! Never a belt, and never show the waist of the trousers: always wear a waistcoat or cummerbund with you dinner suit.
